The Twelfth Annual National Black Herstory Conference and Awards Banquet will recognize the legacies of women considered leaders, activist, and heroines throughout the African Diaspora and groups of their supportive allies. International perspectives of African woman and the different gender roles of uniquely diverse cultures will also be addressed.

Tutankhamun

An exhibition featuring more than 130 treasures from the tomb of celebrated pharaoh King Tutankhamun and other ancient Egyptian sites. The exhibition is organized by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International and AEG Exhibitions, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities.

The National Black Arts Festival (NBAF), a non-profit cultural institution based in Atlanta, Georgia, celebrates the contributions of people of African descent and their impact on world cultures. The mission of NBAF is to engage, cultivate and educate diverse audiences about the arts and culture of the African Diaspora and provide opportunities for artistic and creative expression.
The National Black Arts Festival celebrates the arts with: Education, Year-round programs & A summer festival in July.

Poncey-Highland Playground
Plans are have been finalized to build the first playground in Poncey-Highland! The playground equipment will be installed on April 18 and 19, 2009 rain or shine and volunteers are still needed to help with the build!
We have received several donations from neighborhood residents and businesses, but more is needed. Donate Now (donations are tax deductible). Individual donors with contributions of $100 ($150 for businesses) will have an engraved brick paver that will be a permanent part of the playground. Learn more...
