Charles Nkomo

Picture
Charles was born in 1974 in Zimbabwe. After leaving school in 1995, he studied at Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where he specialised in fine art.   Since leaving Mzilikazi and becoming resident at the National Gallery in Bulawayo, Charles has participated in many joint exhibitions and has also been commissioned to paint some astounding murals for Zimbabwean organisations.

Exhibitions featuring Charles' work include the Harare International Festival of the Arts Exhibition in 2000, Cotton Quest 2001 Exhibition, and numerous Visual Artists' Association of Bulawayo (VAAB) Annual Exhibitions. He was awarded first prize for painting at the 2001 VAAB Exhibition.   Murals have been commissioned by the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, the Rio Hotel, the Amakhosi Township Theatre in Bulawayo, and by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, amongst others.
