Femi Johnson

Femi Johnson was born in Ekiti Ikole, Ondo, Nigeria October 23, 1962. and now resides in Oshogbo Oshun, Nigeria with is wife and two children. He was educated in the Union Baptist Primary School, Osogbo; Egbe-Oba High School, Ikole-Ekiti; Nigeria Film Technology Institute , Owo and Art Apprenticeship under Mr. Kola Sorunke. He has had solo exhibitions at the Royal Palace, Osogbo, 1998, the African Art Center, Osogbo, 1989, Shell Petroleum House, Ikoyi, Lagos 1990, and New Creations of Osogbo, Hamburg, Germany 1992.
He has exhibited in many group shows in Nigeria, Germany, England India, Japan, France, Brasil, and the U.S.A.. He is the youngest artist to be named Curator to Oshogbo Artist Movement Gallery and Museum. Two of his paintings were dedicated at Hartsfield Airport, Concourse E prior to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Femi is Vice President of the "African Creative Minds" which comprises all new generations of young artist. He is also the first artist in Nigeria to build an artist village in Iragbiji in Oshun, Nigeria.
