Lawrence Iyoha
Lawrence Iyoha was born to Catholic family in 1969 in Ibadan, a Edo Benin origin. In elementary school he always admired the classic works of Laimdi Fakeye and Bruce Onabrakpeya whose works were on the door panels of catholic missioins and seminaries. The artist side came out in Lawrence in1993 when he met Moses Ogunleye and they began to work together at a small studio close to the University of Ibadan. Lawrence and moses traveled together to other African countires and met with some prominent and young artists that triggered his inspiration.
Lawrence has been featured in two displays in Ghana, the most famous of which was Panafest in 1997 in Cape Coast. Lawrence is a member of two professional Arts and Theatre oragizations, The large Bode Sowanda Odu Themes and AFrican Cultural Promotion in which he is the Artistic Director.
